AIDS TREAMENT GUIDELINES FOR ZIMBABWE

FIRST LINE TREATMENT
Stavudine 40mg twice daily
Lamivudine 150mg twice daily
Nevirapine 200mg once daily for 2 weeks and then if tolerated 200mg twice daily together with the above.
In Zimbabwe, Stalanev contains all the three drugs. If the patient's weight is less than 60kg then Stalanev 30 is used instead of 40mg.
This means that one can be on treatment paying only £30 per month.
 
 
SECOND LINE TREATMENT
Zidovudine 300mg twice daily
Didanosine 200mg twice daily
Kaletra 3 capsules twice daily
